Allowing yourself time to relax, reset and recover physically and mentally can go a long way. Exhaustion and continually dealing with things that activate your body’s stress response can cause your cortisol levels to remain high.


In this day and age, it might be challenging to find time to rest, especially with the expectation of working at high speed and fitting in as much as possible into every single day. You might not even be including rest in your day-to-day plans. You need to make a change and value your own needs and say no when needed.

If you are experiencing mental health and need someone to talk to, try and find a private space and let the person know that you want the conversation kept private; make sure you both have time to speak and be clear about when you want their advice and when you just want them to listen.


If you are uncomfortable speaking to someone you know or don’t have anyone to talk to, visit a therapist or a psychologist. You will probably feel a great sense of relief after talking with someone.


You might not be the person with a mental health problem, but you may notice something is a little off with someone. Although you may be uncomfortable reaching out to someone about their mental health and your concerns, it might make a massive difference to that person by talking and listening to them. Try not to underestimate the importance of being there for someone and listening to what they have to say without judgement.

The simple answer is yes, but it depends on how it’s treated. If mental health is left aside, it can worsen over time, so reach out, whether it’s for yourself or your loved ones, to prevent and cure mental health.
