Guide to sending colour samples and templates.

Guide to sending colour samples and templates.

You might come across a job where the requested colour is not a TWO standard colour, is not available in the latest Dulux colour range, or is a job with a complex or abnormal window shape. The best option for these jobs is to send our TWO Head Office a colour sample or a drawing template to forward to the Shutter factory to match.

Here is a quick guide about supplying a custom colour sample or a drawing template.

Paints and Template TWO

Custom Colour to Sample

The recommended option!

An official paint supplier colour card or chip is the colour sample TWO prefers to colour match.

TWO Dulux Colour Chip

Acceptable alternatives

If a colour card/chip is not possible, then the next best option is a smooth, non-porous substrate such as a timber piece or laminated cardboard with the desired custom colour painted on it.

If you choose this option, please ensure the following:

  • The substrate is smooth and clean
  • You do not paint on anything that will alter the desired colour
  • Paint multiple coats to ensure the true colour is showing
  • Check your sample is as close to the colour your customer wants and free from imperfections
  • Label it clearly with your business name, customer’s name and order number (if applicable)
  • Keep a sample for yourself to refer to if needed

What is not acceptable

TWO cannot send wet paint samples, such as a sample pot, to the factory, so please ensure that you apply the paint on a surface and send the paint sample to the TWO Head Office.

Custom Shapes that require Templates

The recommended option!

Please supply template drawings on standard printer paper, butcher paper or standard craft cardboard.

Sample Pot

Acceptable alternatives

If a paper-based medium is not an option, we will also accept non-stretchy material. Roller blind material is acceptable.

Regardless of the option chosen, please ensure the following:

  • Create two physical copies – one to send to TWO, one to keep as a reference
  • Drawings, measurements and notes are clear
  • Include a photo of the opening (optional)
  • Label it clearly with your business name, customer’s name and order number (if applicable)

What is not acceptable

  • Corrugated cardboard or corflute
  • Cardboard from packing boxes
  • Stretchy material
