The difference between control rods

Shutters are a popular window treatment option that provides style, privacy, and light control to any room. One of the essential components of a shutter is the control rod, which allows you to adjust the angle of the blades. When choosing a control rod, there are four options: Clearview, Centre, Offset and Euro. In this article, we’ll explore the differences between each.

Clearview Control Rods

Clearview control rods are our most popular style of control rods. This style is perfect for those who prefer a minimalist interior design or want an unobstructed view of the outside world. The control rods are hidden on the back of the panel, on the left or right side, providing a clear view of the window.  To adjust the angles, you only need to move a blade.

Centre & Offset Control Rods

Centre and Offset control rods are a more traditional style. The control rod is located in the front of the panel, positioned centre or off-centre, to the left or right side.  This style of control rod is perfect for those who want to maintain the traditional look of their home or have a more decorative interior design style.

“Euro”

A typical control rod works by closing the shutter blades only in an upward direction. In contrast, a Euro control rod allows the blades to close both upwards and downwards. This flexibility is achieved by the top and bottom rails, which have cut-outs on their front and back surfaces, enabling the blades to close in both directions. The Euro control is available centred or offset.
